Deputies find 44 pounds of meth, 9,000 fentanyl pills in I-80 traffic stop

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A search of a vehicle during a traffic stop on Saturday turned up multiple pounds of narcotics.
The Seward County Sheriff’s Office said on Thursday that a deputy pulled over a Chevy Tahoe southeast of Seward on Interstate 80.
The deputy became suspicious of the driver and his passenger, thinking they were involved in some criminal activity.
Authorities spoke to the driver and determined that there was probable cause to search the SUV.
The search uncovered 44 pounds of methamphetamine, roughly 9,000 fentanyl pills and a stolen firearm, deputies say.
Fausto A. Castro-Mendoza of Phoenix and Jesus Villanueva of Denver were arrested without incident.
Deputies say Villanueva also had multiple outstanding warrants in Colorado.
