Norfolk woman sentenced 71 months for intent to distribute meth

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A United States District Judge has sentenced a Norfolk woman to 71 months for intent to distribute methamphetamine.

Judge Brian C. Buescher sentenced 39-year-old Lacee Tuttle for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine on Jan. 14.

Along with the 71 months of imprisonment, Tuttle will begin a 3-year term of supervised release.

On July 14, 2019, Tuttle entered the Ohiya casino in Niobrara, Neb. and possessed about 13 grams of methamphetamine. Inside the casino, Tuttle dropped two baggies containing methamphetamine on the floor.

When officers confronted Tuttle, she threw two drug pipes in the trash. Officers then searched Tuttle’s vehicle and found more baggies of methamphetamine, oxycodone, alprazolam, lorazepam and methylphenidate.

Officers arrested Tuttle at the scene, she was later released. According to a press release, Tuttle intended to distribute the methamphetamine at the casino.

On Oct. 22, 2019, Officers contacted Tuttle in a parking lot in Norfolk. At the time, Tuttle had an active arrest warrant.

While officers arrested Tuttle, she dropped a plastic baggie containing methamphetamine. Officers searched Tuttle and found a glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue.

Officers also searched Tuttle’s purse and found methamphetamine, a scale, small empty baggies and marijuana. Tuttle at the time possessed a total of 7 grams of methamphetamine.
