Third man charged in connection to deadly Kearney shooting
According to court documents, 29-year-old Joseph Garcia was charged with one count of criminal attempt of robbery.

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A third person has been charged in connection to a Kearney shooting that left one man dead.
According to court documents, 29-year-old Joseph Garcia was charged with one count of criminal attempt of robbery, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.
According to a complaint filed by the state, Garcia attempted to rob both 18-year-old Joshua Morris and 19-year-old Mariah Chamberlain.
The state motioned to seal an affidavit containing the exact details of the charge.
Both Morris and Chamberlin have been taken into custody in connection with the shooting.
According to a complaint Morris and Chamberlin have been charged with possession of a defaced firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in possession of a firearm.
On Jan. 16, 31-year-old Jared Shinpaugh was killed in the shooting. Garcia was treated at a local hospital for a gunshot wound and was later released.
