Man found hanging in basement dies, Lincoln Police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man who was found hanging from a rope in a basement has died, Lincoln Police announced on Tuesday.

Jesse Doak, 37, died on Feb. 4, Lincoln Police say.

Doak was found on Jan. 27 at a house near 30th and E Streets.  Officers had originally received a report that a woman had been stabbed in the home around 7:00 p.m., according to Lincoln Police.

When the officers arrived, they heard a woman screaming for help inside and had to force entry into the home.  When inside they found the 32-year-old female in the home with multiple lacerations, Lincoln Police say.

Doak was found in the basement hanging from a rope.  Officers performed life-saving measures and both were eventually sent to a local hospital in critical condition.

Lincoln Police believe the woman is still recovering.
