Man drives off with ‘significant’ amount of cash in Nebraska bank robbery, sheriff says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — Authorities are on the hunt for a man who robbed a bank in Geneva on Tuesday.

The Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office said a man walked up to a teller at the Heartland Bank and handed her a note.

The note read, “This is for real give me your money,” according to authorities.

The robber made out with a “significant” amount of cash, and he’s still on the loose, Sheriff Steve Roemmich said.

Authorities described the man as a 5-foot-8 white male with a stocky build, a round chin beard and a mustache.

The man was dressed in a black shirt with glasses and a tan ball cap.  He left the bank in what authorities think is a dark blue Chevy Traverse.

The man was last seen at the corner of Eighth and G streets heading east.

The sheriff’s office is being assisted by the FBI in its investigation.

Deputies urge anyone with information to contact Nebraska Crime Stoppers at 800-422-1494.
