Cold Weather Advisory, Windy for Sunday

Most of the state will be under a COLD WEATHER ADVISORY beginning at midnight on Sunday and lasting until Tuesday morning. Wind chills are expected to be between -20 and -30 degrees below zero in the light blue-shaded counties. Lincoln and the southeastern corner of the state are not included in this advisory, but should expect cold temperatures regardless.
Forecast low temperatures for southeastern Nebraska will be in the single digits, including a few areas below zero near the tri-cities. Strong winds will continue out of the north, with gusts close to 20 mph.
Wind Chills in the Capital City will drop to close to -15 degrees during the early morning hours on Sunday.
Despite mostly clear skies for our Sunday, high temperatures will remain in the low to mid-teens. Strong winds out of the north northwest will continue to put our winter coats to work.
High temperatures will remain below 20 degrees until after MLK day before a jump in temperatures comes our way on Wednesday. Temperatures will remain close to average through the end of the work week and into next weekend. High temperatures will return into the 40s for the start of next week.
