Crews make ‘significant progress’ on central Nebraska wildfires
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — The state reported “significant progress” Friday on the wildfires in Custer County.
The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency said in a press release that there has been no continuous spread since Thursday afternoon.
The Eureka Valley Fire is 75% contained, and the Lillian Fire and East Table Rock Fire are 80% contained, according to the agency.

Combined, the three fires have burned 6,150 acres.
Authorities said the remaining hot spots are in the areas that have already been burned or contained.
State agencies are now pulling back, the press release said, and turning the response over to local authorities.
Airspace restrictions have also been removed, the state said.
