Near-Record Warmth Monday and Tuesday
We lead off the work week with two chances at record-setting heat in Lincoln, expecting highs in the 70s. Tuesday looks to be the warmest day of the calendar year so far, with a chance to enter the all-time top 10 for February temperatures.
Cloud cover is expected to increase throughout the evening with temperatures remaining mild. By 8 p.m. on Sunday, we are looking at the middle 50s in Lincoln.
Lows tonight will stay incredibly mild under a blanket of cloud cover, with the majority of our overnight lows in the lower 40s.
Winds will pick up out of the south tonight in the Capital City, which should also help keep us a little warmer through the overnight hours.
Highs in upper 60s and lower 70s on Monday with increasing cloud cover throughout the afternoon.
Near-record warmth in the Capital City for President’s Day as temperatures are expected to reach the lower 70s.
Tuesday’s high temperatures could pass for mid-May, but instead come to us just past the halfway point in February.
StormCast elects to keep us dry on Monday and Tuesday, with small chances of rain entering the forecast late Tuesday evening.
A major shift in the weather pattern heads our way during the middle of the work week, with small chances for wintry mix and flurries beginning late Wednesday. Temperatures only dip to the lower and middle 40s, and the best chance at accumulating snowfall for the moment resides in far northeast Nebraska with this system. Though with the current drought picture across the state, any precipitation would be welcome.
