Ali Alasady, 18, from Lincoln, was ejected from the Ford Focus during the crash at the intersection of Northwest 84th and West O streets.
The sheriff’s office said the Ford Focus was headed south on NW 84th Street when it failed to stop at the intersection and collided with an eastbound Nissan Kicks on West O Street.
“It was a very violent crash,” Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said during a press conference. “The Ford Focus didn’t stop at all, didn’t hit its brakes or do anything. It just went through at a pretty good clip of speed. It’s always sad to lose anybody, but I am amazed after watching that crash that more people weren’t hurt more seriously.”
Houchin said there was a video of the crash from a nearby business.

Authorities said Wah was a passenger in the Nissan Kicks.
The sheriff’s office said the driver of the Ford was wearing a seatbelt, but the two passengers, who were both ejected, were not.
According to the sheriff’s office, the driver of the Ford is suspected of using marijuana at the time of the crash.
In total, eight people were taken to area hospitals for treatment — three from the Ford and five from the Nissan.
During a press conference on May 27, authorities said the second passenger ejected from the Ford was still being treated in the hospital, but there is no update on whether they have been released or not.
Everyone else has been treated and released from the hospital.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office.
