Low clouds arrive from the east, but still warm

Wednesday morning was slightly warmer for many, especially in eastern Nebraska. Low temperatures along the Missouri River remained in the middle-50s, whereas temperatures were able to drop to the middle to upper-40s farther west.

Cloud cover will start to spill into the area from the east by afternoon. I think we’ll be partly cloudy for the most part on Wednesday afternoon. Some periods may feature more sun, others with more clouds – partly cloudy overall. The clouds will be sufficient to keep highs in the mid-70s.

Wednesday Forecast

We’ll keep clouds in the forecast Wednesday night. Partly cloudy skies overnight and Thursday morning will keep low temperatures in the middle-50s for most with light winds.

Wednesday Night Forecast

As of now, Friday and Saturday appear dry with more sunshine. As a result, high temperatures should rise to the 80s in many spots. A cold front arrives early Sunday, but that appears to be a “dry” cold front at this point in time.

We’ll continue to monitor any trends in computer model guidance with regards to Sunday morning’s cold front and tweak the forecast as needed. We do know that this cold front will deliver cooler temperatures for Sunday, which should last into next week.
