High temperatures will range from the 80s to the 90s this afternoon. The hot spots in SW Nebraska.
Friday evening (5-11pm): Isolated storms will TRY and develop along a line from Red Cloud->Omaha. There will be FAVORABLE storm fuel across SE Nebraska, meaning storms that form could grow quickly when CAP is broken.
The area to watch Friday evening will be SE Nebraska as that’s where the favorable environment will be for severe storms. Main threats will be large hail up to golf balls & damaging winds.
Saturday evening: A line of storms will try to develop from Sioux City ->Red Cloud. LARGE HAIL, gusty winds & an isolated tornado threat will all be concerns as storms move east.
4-8pm Saturday: Storms will begin to develop from NE to SW. The first storms and the tail end storms have the best potential for large hail and an isolated tornado. Storms will track east by the evening.
9pm-midnight Saturday: Saturday night, the LLJ RAMPS UP across SE & eastern Nebraska. This will fuel storms and intensify them into the overnight hours Saturday.
Sunday: Scattered strong to severe storms will form N->S. A cluster/line of storms will form by the evening out west. DAMAGING WINDS, isolated TORNADOES & HAIL will all be threats Sunday afternoon through Monday!
Monday’s threat will all depend on what happens Saturday. The farther SE you are= the best chance for storms.
Thursday will be very windy & warmer! South winds could gusts up to 45-55 mph Thursday afternoon. Saturday -Monday brings strong to severe storms across much of eastern Nebraska. Stay tuned to the latest forecasts as the weekend gets closer!
