Warmer, Partly Cloudy Skies to Close the Weekend
Cloud cover is expected to increase early on Sunday, with a much warmer start to the day in store compared to Saturday. Temperatures will range from the upper 40s to the 60s for the Lincoln marathon. Winds could be noticeable, though tolerable for those running.
Saturday morning featured low temperatures close to freezing; safe to say it will be milder for the start of Sunday.
Temperatures this evening are expected to drop to near-average for Lincoln, if not a few degrees warmer. A few stronger wind gusts will be possible with an incoming front under partly cloudy skies.
Highs across the region on Sunday are expected to reach the lower 70s for most, with a few mid to upper 70s close to the Kansas-Nebraska border.
Partly sunny skies are expected throughout the day for the Capital City with an occasional strong gust or two. Highs are expected to reach the low 70s early Sunday evening.
The majority of the state will have a shot at above-average temperatures entering Mother’s Day weekend. Equal chances to be above or below average for precipitation during that time.
Temperatures continue to climb for the start of the work week, though only for Monday afternoon. A cold front pushes through the plains, bringing the chance for a couple of showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures will drop to the 50s and 60s before recovering to the 70s by late next week.
